Fight the Signs of Aging

botox skin treatment, Fairlawn Aesthetic MD, Cleveland Aesthetic Practice

We’ve never met a client that didn’t want healthier, younger-looking skin. Let’s face it, your face is often times the first impression someone has of you. Fairlawn Aesthetic MD wants to make sure you are putting the best face out there that you can. Through the use of lasers, injectables, and we can help give you near immediate and long-lasting results to the health of your skin.

We offer two laser treatments for improving the look of your skin. IPL Photorejuvenation offers clients improved skin texture by treating pigmented sun spots, age spots, rosacea, and other vascular lesions. By using the broad spectrum light source, problematic areas are able to be targeted for specific imperfections and concerns. Treatments can be done on the face, but also are beneficial for larger areas like arms and legs.  The CO2 Fractional Laser treatment is beneficial for clients who are looking for tighter skin and to reduce wrinkles. Results will be seen after 3 appointments spaced one month apart. The MadonnaLaser Eyelift uses fractional lasers to safely reduce the appearance of crows' feet and loose skin around the eyes. With the use of lasers to stimulate deeper layers of the skin it also produces collagen which begins to naturally heal and rejuvenate the skin.

While being slightly more invasive than laser treatments, injectables offer an immediate enhanced appearance. The NovaThread Face Lift gives clients a contoured face through small, internal sutures that are made of polydioxanone(PDO). The procedure itself involves inserting a needle with a PDO thread under the skin. As the needle is removed the skin it is hooked to is pulled tighter thus reducing the appearance of loose skin. The needle is removed while the thread remains for roughly 4-6 months. In those 4-6 months, scar tissue is formed creating a lasting, shaped look. Botox is a more traditional approach to injectables that change the look of skin. Botox injections use botulinum toxin to help stop the formation of wrinkles, especially around the mouth and eyes. Pairing it with dermal fillers helps fill in any current wrinkles and current skin imperfections. Injectable fillers can also help plump areas that may be sinking with age. Post injection you may see redness, and some swelling and slight pain.

If you are looking for an immediate remedy to your face or skin concerns, Fairlawn Aesthetic MD has a procedure that can help. For a consultation with Dr. Matt McDaniel to discuss your skin and areas you would like to target, call the office at 330-801-9069.

There are some cryotherapy methods out there that have been proven to reduce the amount of fat and cellulite in your body. There is CoolSculpting ® and Cryo T-Shock, but which one is right for you? The CoolSculpting ® procedure is FDA-cleared for the treatment of visible fat bulges under the chin and under the jawline, thigh, abdomen and flank, along with bra fat, back fat, underneath the buttocks and upper arm. It is also FDA-cleared to affect the appearance of lax tissue with submental (under the chin) area treatments. For most areas, the process takes about 35 minutes. After the deep-freeze damage to the fat cells, they will eventually die and be eliminated by the body — a process which takes time, about 1-3 months or more, resulting in up to 20%-25% reduction of fat in a treated are...

How Often Should I Get a Chemical Peel?

Can you get chemical peels too often? Chemical peels are helpful for a variety of skin conditions. They are often used as acne treatment and can target age spots, improving blemishes, fine lines, and wrinkles. Because of their healing properties, it may be tempting to use chemical peels excessively. However. doing so too much can backfire and create more skin issues, such as: -redness -discoloration -hyperpigmentation -irreversible spots -bacterial infections Ironically, if you use chemical peels too often, you may risk bringing on the issue you want to treat. So, how often is too often? The answer depends on the strength of the chemical peel. For instance, are you using at-home products or medical-grade peels from an esthetician? Chances are if you're using a peel you bought from the store, the chemicals are not as strong as professional peels. Although this is generally a con, you can typically use these superficial-level products more often without adverse reacti...
