Deciding Between CoolSculpting and Cryo T Shock?

You've been eating right, exercising, but you still have that stubborn fat hanging around your stomach area. Or maybe you have a double chin that just will not go away! There are some cryotherapy methods out there that have been proven to reduce the amount of fat and cellulite in your body. There is CoolSculpting® and Cryo T-Shock, but which one is right for you? Which one is better?

The CoolSculpting® procedure is FDA-cleared for the treatment of visible fat bulges under the chin and under the jawline, thigh, abdomen and flank, along with bra fat, back fat, underneath the buttocks and upper arm. It is also FDA-cleared to affect the appearance of lax tissue with submental (under the chin) area treatments. For most areas, the process takes about 35 minutes. After the deep-freeze damage to the fat cells, they will eventually die and be eliminated by the body — a process which takes time, about 1-3 months or more, resulting in up to 20%-25% reduction of fat in a treated area.

Cryo T-Shock promotes fat loss by breaking down fat cells by starting the treatment with heat then a prolonged period of cold then heat again. This process lowers the temperature of the targeted fat cells to between 12℃ and 17℃ triggering a phenomenon called apoptosis (a natural controlled cell death). Then the body naturally flushes the fat cells out through the bloodstream and then the lymphatic system in a few days to weeks following the treatment resulting in fat loss. Cryo T-Shock is also currently FDA-approved to treat the stomach, “love handles,” back, thighs, and the under the chin area. Most treatments take about 25 minutes. It is a service that can be done 10-14 days apart depending how quickly your lymphatic system flows.

The CoolSculpting® technique uses a solid block that applies suction to the treatment area. The excess fat is sucked into a block and you’re then left alone. Cryo T-Shock uses a hand-held wand that applies both heat and cold initiating thermal shock to the fat cells. The thermal shock helps to break down the dead fat cells so your body can dispose of them easier. Cryo T-Shock’s treatments are significantly lower in price. A medium to large package deal (5-10 sessions) with the Cryo T-Shock can run the same amount as a single CoolSculpting® treatment.

How Often Should I Get a Chemical Peel?

Can you get chemical peels too often? Chemical peels are helpful for a variety of skin conditions. They are often used as acne treatment and can target age spots, improving blemishes, fine lines, and wrinkles. Because of their healing properties, it may be tempting to use chemical peels excessively. However. doing so too much can backfire and create more skin issues, such as: -redness -discoloration -hyperpigmentation -irreversible spots -bacterial infections Ironically, if you use chemical peels too often, you may risk bringing on the issue you want to treat. So, how often is too often? The answer depends on the strength of the chemical peel. For instance, are you using at-home products or medical-grade peels from an esthetician? Chances are if you're using a peel you bought from the store, the chemicals are not as strong as professional peels. Although this is generally a con, you can typically use these superficial-level products more often without adverse reacti...
